New Look Plus Enhanced Online Features & Capabilities

AVS publications have undergone many new updates and additions. All publications have redesigned journal covers with exceptional author cover art as well as web pages featuring quick links and several advanced search capabilities. JVST subscribers/members will also enjoy a new CD look and presentation.

All AVS publications are hosted on the newly upgraded AIP Scitation C3 platform where researchers can find innovative new highlights and functionality described below. JVST and Biointerphases are also pleased to debut the AIP Peer X-Press online submission tool that speeds time to publication by streamlining peer review functions. Authors can conveniently upload article text, graphics, supplemental and multimedia files.

Website Features: The new journal homepages feature "Recently Published" and "Research Highlights" articles, while abstracts include links for "Related Content" and access to article objects (figures, tables, multimedia, etc.). Members and subscribers who log in encounter added tools for article objects, including the ability to export figures to PowerPoint. In addition, the homepages offer easy access to browse the current issue, top 20 downloads, sign up for RSS feeds, or submit a new a manuscript. Other new capabilities include:

• New faceted search engine and a dynamic search widget that speeds up research functionality
• An AVS Digital Library that allows browsing across all AVS content from a single access point
• Mobile enabled views that deliver content optimized for personal digital devices (i-AVS on i-tunes)

• A GeoMapper component that enables exploring search results by geographical distribution of hits

Peer X-Press Features: The new JVST and Biointerphases Peer X-Press manuscript submission and review sites allow authors to easily upload their article and figure files, and quickly check their manuscript status. Peer X-Press also speeds time to online production.
