JVST recently published a Special Issue on Atomic Layer Deposition. JVST A will publish a new Atomic Layer Deposition special issue next year. This will be in collaboration with the 12th International Conference on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD 2012) to be held in Dresden, Germany, June 17-20, 2012. This special issue is planned in collaboration with the 11th International Conference on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD 2011) to be held at Cambridge Massachusetts during June 26-29, 2011. The Special Issue will be dedicated to the science and technology of atomic layer controlled deposition of thin films. While a significant fraction of the articles are expected to be based on material presented at ALD 2011, research articles that are on ALD but were not presented at this conference are also welcome: the special issue will be open to all articles on the science and technology of ALD. Louis Brus gave the Plenary Lecture for the AVS 57th International Symposium and Exhibition held the week of October 17th. Louis Brus was educated in Chemical Physics at Rice University and Columbia University. In 1973 he joined the chemistry and materials research area of Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ. He returned to Columbia in 1996, where he is now S. L. Mitchill Professor of Chemistry. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, and in 1998 was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gordon Conferences. He has won the APS Langmuir Prize, the ACS Chemistry of Materials Prize, the OSA Wood Prize, and in 2008 the inaugural Kavli Prize in Nanoscience. [read more]

JVST and Biointerphases are also pleased to debut the AIP Peer X-Press online submission tool that speeds time to publication by streamlining peer review functions.
